High above Nice, overlooking the Mediterranean and the French Riviera, Mazzoli contributed to the creation of an exceptional private château, translating the architect’s vision into bespoke furniture, upholstery and textile elements.

Bespoke Furniture and Upholstery for a Private Château

Every upholstered element was custom-made to the architect’s drawings, combining Italian craftsmanship with carefully selected raw materials, premium fabrics and fine leathers sourced from leading manufacturers and tanneries.

Made-to-Measure Furniture for the Living Areas

For the living areas, Mazzoli created made-to-measure sofas and upholstered furniture developed specifically for the proportions and architectural character of the château.

Curved geometries, generous volumes and refined upholstery establish a dialogue between contemporary Italian design and the classical architecture of the property.

Custom-Made Beds and Upholstered Headboards

The bedrooms continue the same approach, with custom-made beds, upholstered headboards and textile elements conceived individually for each space.

Bespoke Textile Design and Curtains

The master bedroom contains one of the project’s most distinctive interventions. Here, textile design extends beyond conventional curtains: Mazzoli created an elaborate made-to-measure ceiling drapery, transforming fabric into an architectural element and creating a soft, intimate atmosphere around the sleeping area.

Mazzoli was also responsible for the curtains and textile decoration throughout the residence.

The exceptional height and proportions of the windows required individually developed solutions, combining sheers and decorative fabrics to filter the Mediterranean light while preserving the views.

Italian Lighting and Iconic Design

The interior concept was completed through a carefully considered lighting selection, combining architectural lighting with iconic pieces of Italian design.

Among them, the Arco floor lamp by Flos, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, introduces one of the most recognisable expressions of Italian design into the château.

At the heart of the project is a philosophy that has defined Mazzoli since 1969: furniture should adapt to architecture and to the people who inhabit it – not the other way around.

Dimensions, proportions, comfort, materials, upholstery and detailing can be individually developed around the architect’s or interior designer’s vision.

The result is a coherent residence where bespoke Italian craftsmanship, textile expertise and iconic design become part of the architecture itself.
